Automation with your own hands

Surely many owners of country sites are familiar to the situation when you leave your possessions in the dark, having previously turned off all the lighting. After that, you walk in the dark, risking to turn the leg or stumble about the stone.

A mechanical time relay can be avoided, for example, from the old washing machine (photo 1). Without any alterations, it should be inserted into any suitable case and connect parallel to the outdoor lighting switch. Then attach the "timer" indoors near the entrance door (photo 2). Having setting the desired time interval (determined by practical way), you calmly leave your home, after which the light automatically goes out. Power relay is about

1.3 kW (and when using two contact groups - 2.6 kW), which allows you to use a large number of lamps.
