Chinchilla is a cute fluffy animal, in nature living exclusively in Andes. Some time ago, this animal was practically exterminated by poachers. The fact is that chinchilla fur is the warmest, lightweight and expensive fur in the world.
But suddenly breeding chinchillas took up amateurs of exotic animals. And it turned out that this animal is much better suitable for home content than, for example, rabbits. And from this point on, the situation with the chinshill livestock began to improve sharply.
Types of chinchilla include only two varieties of animals. This is the chinchilla short-stop and chinchilla long-tailed. Shinshilla's short-sided chinchilla differs not only with a short tail, but also less high-quality fur. For home content is bred long-tailed chinchillas. The most common, natural color of this animal is called standard. This is a gray chinchilla with a white tummy and a black back.
But as a result of natural mutations, various shinshill colors were derived. Such chinchillas are not found in wildlife, and cost more standards. Moreover, the price is higher than ordinary chinchillas for the reason that mutations are not constant. In other words, even when crossing two colored chinchillas will still be born and standard.
Decorative chinchillas have many colors, the simplest is black velvet, white, beige. More complex varieties, pastel, sapphire, diamond. Moreover, many of the listed colors can pass the velvet gene or the Ebony gene. Moreover, the chinchilla can also be a carrier of some one or more genes. We will not delve into this, we will not, genetics science complex.
Photos of the Chinshill breed will greatly surprise you with their diversity. Homemade chinchillas are conventionally divided into such rocks as ordinary chinchilla, Angora (this subspecies are sophisticated by the Royal Persian Angora) and not yet a common dwarf chinchilla.
Conventional chinchillas are found in large quantities even in pet stores. Angora is a conventional chinchilla with a longer, (but uneven length) fur. She looks like a fluffy fur ball, but it is not comicious - about 50 thousand rubles. Dwarf chinchillas have not yet been available in Russia, at the moment they are bought in Europe, respectively, the prices of them are very high.
All these breeds are very different colors. Work on their breeding is still being conducted, breeders try to improve their structure, the quality of fur. Looking for a solution and such a problem as weaker health from chinchillas with a complex color or a rare breed.
