Stone laying is not a very difficult process. It occurs in several stages in compliance with a certain technology of preparatory work and directly the styling itself.
The base for it should be thoroughly prepare. Its surface should be:
absolutely smooth - to identify irregularities, the level is used in the case of The need for them is equalized by putty on a cement basis;
solid, durable, should not crumble or peel - checked with any solid acute item: they carry out two intersecting lines and explore the surface at the point of intersection, it may be possible to penetrate;
without cracks and any pollution;
have a high adhesion, that is, well gripped with the surface.
Stone laying is made on vertical, horizontal or inclined surfaces. The mounting type depends on the thickness of the plates and is conditionally divided into three categories:
1-1.5 cm - for wall decoration;
1.5-2 cm - for floor cladding;
2-5 cm - as an outdoor coating.
Types of laying
Horizontal
There was a time when the technology of sticking the stone was predominantly used directly into the solution - a mixture of haired lime with sand with a portland cement. This technique does not allow neither the formation of voids under stone, no film on the solution. The only thing is to remove the protruding mixture along the edges and traditionally rub the seams.
But over time, excellent adhesive materials based on resin, which began to enjoy increasingly popular. As is known, the marketer laying requires a special choice of a fixing solution, because due to its porosity, non-wellwork spots may appear on the surface. So, the adhesive materials of the new generation make it possible to exclude the appearance of spots, drowshes, color change. Many of them have in their composition sealant, which, undoubtedly, has a positive effect on the general quality of laying.
However, in the case when the laying of the stone is produced on a porous base (gypsum, cellular concrete), it is recommended to fill its surface with a layer of self-refined primer.
The adhesive solution is mostly applied only on the base with a special spatula, gear. Moreover, it is not recommended to apply it at the same time. The solution is applied, as needed to be small on the surface area for the installation of a particular stone tile. For example, the laying of granite is made on the surface, the area of \u200b\u200bwhich does not exceed one square meter. This condition is due to the fact that a long-lying adhesive solution forms a film, significantly worsening its quality. It is so serious that if, despite all the precautions, the film was still formed, the solution is completely removed and the new one is applied.
In the case of the use of some adhesive solutions, taking into account the technological conditions of their use, the back side of the stone slab is lubricated. Thus, it automatically disappears the need to test the quality of the adhesion of glue to the stone itself, for which it would be necessary to raise the laid stone plates.
Suts from glue residues are easily cleaned with a moistened with a sponge (after final hardening, of course) and close up with silicone elastic sealant.
Vertical
For inclined and vertical surfaces, besides the above, metal fasteners are also used.
Stone tile can be put on the wall in two ways:
Plates are mounted on the surface, pre-prepared with the use of clipping, and the emptiness between them and the wall are filled with backing or special solution.
Laying the stone is made individually, while it is simultaneously fixed using a clip or stainless wire.
It is important not to forget that before starting work on laying stone slabs, you should make a preliminary test calculation of the required quantity and adjust them under all angles.
Which SNiP, TU, GOST, etc. Describes stone laying technology to vertical surfaces?
