Grow a cherry

I since childhood I love the cherry. Especially like cherry jam: dark burgundy, thick, sweet, with one berry in the mouth you can drink a whole mug of tea.

More than 40 years ago, a young 19-year-old guy, I left the father's house in Vladimir and began to live in Tyumen. When it became possible to engage in gardening and gardening, began to complement the garden with fruit trees and shrubs brought from native edges. At first, I planted the Suzdal 'Mistine' Ryabin.

The next one was the black currant variety 'Ilya Muromets', which now gives good yields (we grow it from cuttings).

But with the cherry for a long time nothing turned out. Up to 4 years of age, Vladimir Cherry lived, even bloomed and gave a few berries, and then in a cold winter he watched. It was possible to find a local variety - Cherry Troitskaya from the Chelyabinsk region (neighbors gave 2 seedlings).

Now cherry trees occupy a third of my garden. I do not specifically plant - multiply by self-sowing (when you collect a harvest, unwittingly eat berries, and the bones are on earth). When I am preparing the ridges under the bow, carrots, next to the cherry you have to dig small seedlings. In the spring I give them to the store for the sale of gardeners.

Many amateur gardeners complain that the cherries in the regions of Siberia and the Far East will freeze. You can advise to grow cherries from the bones. One day, brought from Vladimir Red Smorodin, grew up from waste, which mom after the manufacture of juice carried into a compost pit. Bustard of Barbaris, and Red (Virgin) cherry are grown from seeds. In the garden we grow huge bushes of Barbaris and cherry, from which I collect fruits from the fall.

Trinity cherry fruit annually. Part of the berries goes to the jam, the other - in the freezing. In winter, we defrust the berries and eat with pleasure. I do not throw bones, I keep in the refrigerator until the beginning of March (thus passes stratification of the bones).

Then I put bones into wet birch sawdust or in washed river sand and put the boxes on the windowsill. Two months later, the bones crack and germinate.

And how to plant cherry from the bone?

Senya, with ripe cherry take a bone, rinse it, put in the ground. Since the cherry is needed to germinate the cherry (three months in the cold), you can put under the winter to the ground on the street. After the cherry seedlow is a year for him, it is necessary to instill a cultural twig of the cherry. If you do not make vaccination, then the berries will subsequently be small and sour.
