Growing poppy in the garden

I love my garden very much and all the plants in it. In my garden, many colors - both perennial and annuals. Of course, perennials grow much easier: do not need to think about seeds, take care of the seedlings. But some annuals are so good that I agree to constantly invest my work, if only they bloomed. For example, I love Mac. His beauty is easy and elegant, but, alas, is short-lived. Flowers of some varieties of Poppy are dismissed early in the morning, almost simultaneously with the sunrise, and in the evening their petals are already withering and falling. But in their fleeting flowering there is its own unique charm. Maks are very different: very tender or very bright, with large flowers or small. And how the form of petals varies!

There are among the poppies and perennial families. For example, Mac East. Flowers in May and June, its large fiery-red flowers reaches up to 20 cm in diameter. The plant grows up to 60-100 cm, and since the stems are not only long, but also thin, fragile, they must be taped.

The poppy is breeding or the division of the bush and seeds. In general, this plant is prone to active self-sowing, its sprouts can appear in the most unexpected places. It would seem, then there are no problems - take and transplant. But, alas, the plant transplant tolerates very badly: his rod root goes deep into the soil and dig it, without damaging, it is almost impossible. This does not mean that all the plants that you transform, dividing the bush, will die, but the percentage of survival will be very low.

Therefore, many multiply poppy seeds. True, the varietal qualities of the plant are lost. To preserve the grade, the poppies spread with green cuttings (they are bold in loose damp soil under the jar).
