Containers for seedlings

I think you will agree with me that healthy, with a powerful root seedling system - the basis of a good harvest. Vegetable breeders and amateur gardeners for its cultivation use different containers. But not all of them are equally comfortable,

I believe that seedlings of vegetable and melting crops are conveniently grown in metal jars from under green peas, compote, pepper (for tomatoes), condensed milk, beef stew, etc. (for other cultures). When I open them, I always follow that there are no flights left, if necessary, I regret the bastards.

I wash the jars well and dried. In the center of the bottom of each of them, drill an opening with a diameter of 8-10 mm from the inside, putting the bottom of the plank. If burrs are formed, they remove them by the passatships, a file or hammer. The top cover is lowered on the bottom.

Each jar fill with light fertile soil at 40-50 mm below the top and landing 1-2 seed into it. On the glued paper strips, I specify the name of the variety and the date of planting. As the seedlings increase add a new soil. I do not do the picking.

When transplanting permanently, the seedlings pushing the metal rod with a diameter of 5-6 mm by pressing the bottom of the jar. At the same time, seedlings leave with an intact root system along with a soil, repeating the shape of the jar. It can even be planted at the hottest time without any shading - I assure you, wilts will not.

Jars can be used repeatedly.

The designs of jars can be the most diverse:

• cylindrical metallic with a hole in a non-removable day (Fig. 1);

• with a retractable cylinder for adding soil to seedlings (Fig. 2), which is made from the cylinder of a tin can, cut from one side, compressed and sealed or fixed in one way;

• with a collapsible body, a retractable cylinder and a removable bottom having a hole for water drain (Fig.3);

• with a square housing and a hole in a non-removable day (Fig. 4);

• from thermosetting or thermoplastic plastics with colors at the bottom of the housing and a removable bottom (Fig. 5).

On a note:

The exhibition of cottages is a very important thing, because comfort and convenience contribute to a favorable rest. And at the cottage you need not only to work, but also rest.

Not just a simple egg shell. It is used in folk medicine, it is used in the fight against bear and cabbage flies, and you can also grow seedlings of cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkins.
For autumn and winter, you can dial a lot of "tanks" to disembark plants. To do this, when using eggs, carefully donate the head of the shell, use the contents by destination, and align the sharp ends with a knife. So that our "packaging" was sustainable, put it in the containers from the eggs.
When the time comes to sow seedlings, the bottom of the shells are tested for a waters of water during watering and fill the resulting soil capacity.
Pour the soil with a weak solution of manganese and put a germinated seed into each shell, suck the ground, spray with water. Put the container with shells to a warm place, cover it with a film. Daily sprayer moisturize the top layer of the Earth. Containers with sprouts appeared closer to the light.
By the time the disembarkation, your seedlings will grow strong, chorennye, before boarding the ground, it will be enough to slightly compress the shell in his hand so that it cracked, and lower it into the hole. Due to this method of growing plants, additionally fresh fertilizer is obtained.
This is a very effective, albeit labor-intensive way, since it requires constant care: the containers are small and seedlings quickly dry.

The preparation of capacity for seedlings used to be quite complicated for me. Currently, I always have cups in the right amount. How do I do them and what?
They are made of aluminum beer cans with a capacity of 0.5 liters. From one bank it turns out 2 cups. I cut a jar into 2 parts, cut off at both sides of the Donets.
Sliced Donets insert the inside of the cylindrical part, while the edges of the bottoms are rejected outside so that the earth holds the earth in a cup. In such cups, 0.25 liters of seedlings grows very well, regardless of the type - pepper, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, etc. According to the principle of telescopic slippers of the earth, along with the plant is extruded and improved. The use of such cups gives the following advantages:
1. When transplanting the root system is not destroyed, and plants do not have stress after planting in the ground.
2. Cups are very lungs and comfortable, well placed in the box, strong enough during transportation.
3. After using the cups are very simply disinfected by immersing them into a solution of copper sulfate.
4. Cups can be repeatedly used unlimited time.
5. With the use of such cups, the seedlings landing becomes simple and easy.
Given the advantages of such homemade containers for seedlings, I try to grow seedlings without picking, living seeds directly into the cup (especially when planting peppers), which ensures a high harvest of vegetables.

All my acquaintances on the windowsill grows out all sorts of greens. I get to grow only onions. How to grow greens on the window?

For example, I fill the containers of the earth and watering to wash the soil. Then evenly sow seeds. Blooming the thin layer of the Earth, once again watering, weaving the surface of the soil. I put the container into a warm dark place and cover the package to support a high level of humidity.
When small sprouts appear, I remove the package and transport the container to a warm light place, on the windowsill. Further care - watering, regular feeding and illumination 12 hours a day. That's all. But in winter - the sea of useful vitamins.

From the thin tin, I cut the rectangles of 80 x 240 mm, bending a p-shaped shape and put in the drawers so that the lateral side can come into contact with the empty side of the neighboring tin. The "eternal" half-books are obtained with increasing seedlings in a closed space. Sharp edges rounded. Seedling is removed easily, not damaged. Freeing from seedlings, my heatman solution and put in each other. Boxes are calculated on the odd number of half-books in length and width, for example 3 x 5, 5 x 5, 5 x 7, etc.
