It is desirable to spend in the summer, after flowering, but you can and in early spring, before the start of swelling the kidneys. To preserve the good shape of the bush, the dusty shoots are cut off, small (up to 5 cm) sprigs with tassels of former flowers, and young side shoots leave to ensure flowering the next year. The born bushes have thinned, leaving only strong young shoots that can quickly restore flowering. In adult bushes every 2-3 years, it is also recommended to remove old (4-5 years old) branches, and very old plants rejuvenate with radical trimming, removing completely, to the earth itself, both old branches and a pig.
