Gooseberry in the garden transplanted several years ago from friends. They also talked about the receptions that help grow especially large berries.
When I planned landing, I picked up different varieties and alternated them once. To shoot better, added to the soil of sand. And to accelerate acclimatization, I spent trimming, leaving 5 kidneys on shoots above the ground.
Despite the high drought resistance, the gooseberry needs irrigation, otherwise the berries minor. Only sprinkling is not suitable, bushes can get sick - shed should be under the root.
In order to grow very large berries, in addition to the usual autumn-spring trimming of the gooseberry bushes, I spend a rundot trimming of young shoots. Each of them leaves 5 or 6 leaves and 1 berry in the brush.
I do not regret that I planted this grateful culture - always responding to departure, and thanks me with a large gooseberry.
