More labor is better than the harvest. In principle, this is true, but not always: sometimes we rush to do in nature, with which it copes much better than us.
In our family, everyone loves fruits and berries, so there are three daches out of six beds. It is located on raised beds, upholstered by boards, 1 × 4 m - very convenient look after.
I plant her own mustache in the beginning of August in two stripes. The distance between the plants is 20 cm, from the edge of the garden - also 20 cm. I water, mulching bevelled grass to prevent the weed growth and keep moisture.
In the spring of next year we recruit coniferous and soft ground in the woods in the forest from under the trees, and then pour the bag for each bed. After the first lawn, we add grass from above so that ripening berries lay clean on the "soft peril", and not on bare ground.
I water the strawberries regularly - in May, during flowering, after each collection of berries and even in the fall (on the weather). In early August, I cut off the leaves - I pick up a whole bush with my left hand, and I sick with the right sickle (the main thing is not to damage the "heart"). The leaves are easily and fast in a compost pile. After which there is a good opportunity to loom, make autumn fertilizer, undoil and cover row "Blanket" mulch.
I think that, together with old leaves, pests and diseases are leaving (if they were), and do not regret them.
Especially by September, the leaves are growing fresh, it is not scary to winter with them, and the plants have time to lay fruit kidneys next year.
It is known that the strawberries are grown in one place for no more than 4 years.
Therefore, when I see that the bushes have grown themselves, and the berries minor, I ask my husband to disband the garden. He chooses from the ground all the rhizomes and burns.
But in the past, her husband did not have enough time on the strawberry, and I, to update the strawberries, was as follows. The leaves in berries cut off, as usual, after fruiting. After a couple of weeks it was already visible how strong every bush is. Those parts of the rhizomes, from which weak leaves climb, gently revealed with a roast, and then loose. Although old, but powerful types of bushes remained. Closed, watered.
And in the spring we were pleasantly surprised by friendly flowering and excellent harvest with this bed. Berries were not the maximum value, but so sweet! Apparently, a good result was made because the plants were not injured during transplantation and did not spend the forces on the useless foliage. Old bushes as if they are rejected.
This year I similarly extended the "life life" by another strawberry bed. It's nice that physical work is attached less, and the harvest you get a otnaya. I suggest all dackets to try my way. Good luck!
