Therefore, for the sake of savings, it was necessary to spend a lot of strength to fight them. But I want to tell about how I saved my strawberries from the Pichini of the May beetle.
As I rejoiced my strawberry of Gianthel's grade \\ This beautiful berry appeared in my early 90s (at that time it was not yet so common). The first harvest was modest, even though berries - just incredible sizes and very sweet. But soon the problems began. At first, this site was chosen from the couch, and closer to August some bushes began to dry out. I thought it was because of the lack of rains. We had no irrigation there, one hope - on
rain. I tried to fill empty places with young mustes. But the next year everything happened. Then, on the advice of one wise gardener, I began to plant two roots at once in one hole. I liked it: the bushes became big, from the burning sun covered with each other with large leaves. And even if one of the bush died, the second one still survived. But still strawberries partially disappeared.
Then it occurred to me to look at the roots, and I came to horror! All the soil of the kishel is far from cute larvae of the May beetle. And then what I admired in the evenings (ah, see how many may beer!) It became for me the first serious problem.
Much experienced different ways. And finally found, it seems to me that the most reliable. In addition, very simple. In 10 liters of water (no metal bucket) dropped 15 drops of iodine, stirred by a wooden stick and poured under each bush, pre-moistened by the soil (after the rain or after a good irrigation). At the same time she tried not to enter with iodine solution on the leaves. It is especially successful after the cutting of strawberries. As a rule, after such treatment, the beetles for two years do not look at this territory.
My advice to gardeners who are going to change the strawberry place.
